Local Attractions

Chapel House is uniquely placed on the edge of the counties of Warwickshire, Staffordshire and Leicestershire, and only 5 miles from the Derbyshire border. There are many activities and attractions, to suit all tastes, within a radius of only 40 minutes drive.

Atherstone is an ancient market town situated on the roman Watling Street at the eastern edge of the Warwickshire Arden, between Tamworth and Nuneaton . Set against the wooded hills of the Merevale Estate, the picturesque town centre dates from mediaeval times and is unspoiled by modern development. The town is surrounded by the undulating beauty of North Warwickshire and Leicestershire, several golf courses, a zoo, castles, cathedrals, historic houses and stately homes, pleasant and invigorating walks, and is only 20 mins from the NEC.

Until the late 20th century, Atherstone’s traditional industries were mining and felt hatmaking. Today, logistics is the major employer. The visitor will find a wealth of small friendly shops and the twice-weekly market takes place in the market square on Tuesdays and Fridays.
